To All NEW students – First half-hour session is FREE! I’m an Indian citizen with a residence permit in the USA currently living & working in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. For more than a decade, I have taught students of all ages in three international schools in Mangalore in Math and English. I have also taught the American curriculum to School-age children in Texas, the USA for almost one year in the year 2018-19. Currently, I tutor the UK students in Mathematics online & teach Conversational, Public Speaking & Creative Writing Skills to Indian students offline. Besides, teaching I love reading, writing and of course gardening. My teaching style is very friendly and professional and I am able to lift the students of any level to the next higher level and ensure all the concepts are clear for them. I am more focused on student-centric teaching and very much result-oriented. I believe the teaching is incomplete until the child is totally independent of the need of a tutor. And, that’s my objective in every session to make the student independent of the tutor as early as possible by building confidence, skills, and encouragement. Please note if you are struggling in Math / English, do not worry because it’s my responsibility to lift you up in your every step, coach you, and remove the fear of the subject completely. Do watch my welcome video and if you think we are a good fit, then please message me and we could move further from there. See you in the classroom soon and let each session be an enlightened one. Please REMEMBER you can try out as I offer a risk–free trial FREE session.

I'm a math tutor dedicated to inspiring students to gain the mathematical knowledge I've acquired, so they can achieve their optimal potential. I'll provide structured, organized lessons suited to each student's needs and ensure the concepts are understood. Students should show me the math topics, and I can look them over and share my knowledge with them. I can teach students tricks and shortcuts to help them learn difficult math subjects with ease. With what I learned in high school and college, I can help them understand math concepts and pass their courses with ease. The teaching methodology is based on patience, clear explanations, and participation. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style to match each student's needs and pace. My goal is not only to help students solve problems but also to help them understand the underlying concepts of mathematics so they can apply what they learn independently. The lesson begins by identifying the topics or assignments the student needs help with. I ask these students to explain what they already understand and which step they are having the most difficulty with. This would help me focus on the areas that need the most attention. Next, I'll describe the concepts by laying out a step-by-step procedure and working through a few examples. I demonstrate different methods for solving problems, including helpful tricks. After describing the concepts, we work through several practice problems together, and I encourage my students to ask questions throughout the lesson. As my students each get into their comfort zone, they solve problems on their own while I provide them with useful feedback right after. If my students ever make mistakes, we review them together to understand why they happened and how to avoid them in the future. At the end of each lesson, I'd summarize the key concepts, answer any remaining questions my students have, and recommend additional practice if needed.

I'm Nilou, a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, with undergraduate and master's degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I tutor university and high-school math, physics, and statistics, plus engineering coursework, signals and systems, MATLAB, Python, and intro machine learning and data analysis. I also help with GRE quant and general research and study skills. My whole approach is to explain hard ideas in plain language and meet you exactly where you are. I don't rush, I don't make you feel behind, and I find the way of explaining that finally makes it click for you. Years of research and mentoring taught me that almost anything becomes clear with the right analogy and a bit of patience. Sessions are online and flexible. Tell me what you're working on and where you're stuck, and we'll build from there.
