Cat H.

MIT Undergraduate Specializing in SAT and AP Tutoring
Hello! My name is Cat, and I am a sophomore at MIT majoring in brain and cognitive sciences. I am extremely fond of aiding others in comprehending a multitude of topic. Thus, I have engaged in numerous teaching opportunities. These opportunities include being a TA for two MIT undergraduate courses and as a teacher in biology and chemistry in an MIT international teaching program in Germany. --AP Experience-- I possess experience tutoring topics including AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP U.S. Government, AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Language and Composition. --SAT Experience-- I have extensively studied strategies regarding how to approach SAT style mathematics and reading/writing questions and ultimately received a 770 on both of the aforementioned sections on the SAT. Thus, provided this experience, I am confident that I will be able to provide and explain the exercises necessary for any student to improve their score. My lessons will be divided by subject and components, with exercises and real SAT practice problems that aid in further understanding and solidifying approaches to different questions. The aforementioned preparation will include a personalized SAT schedule that I formulate to accommodate the needs of each individual student. Via the given method, I have aided one individual in improving their score by over 300 points throughout the duration of a singular month. I intend to not merely critique the technical errors of a given student's essay, but rather to provide insight upon the diction and style of the writing. I will thoroughly explain and discuss various aspects of a given essay with the student, providing constructive criticism to aid in the development of their writing. --Free Video Consultation-- I am happy to answer any questions that you may possess regarding my teaching strategy, profile, etc. over a free of charge 15-minute video consultation!

Ntokozo M.
University of the Witwatersrand
Highly experienced Physical Sciences and English tutor
I am a full-time Chemical engineering student at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in South Africa. I am also a part-time freelance tutor and writer. I have tutored Physical Sciences to high school students and first year college students for the past 2 years and I have just recently gotten into tutoring English (with a specialty in literature, writing and conversational English). I got into the world of tutoring because I enjoy the process of unpacking complex concepts and simplifying them to such a level that everyone has access to them and can understand them. As a tutor, I strongly believe that our brains are wired differently and as such, they process information in different ways and so it only makes sense for each one of us to have a personalized and individualized learning experience that caters to our needs. To all new prospective students, a complimentary 15 minute session is available for booking. I look forward to helping you achieve all your academic goals.

Creative Writing Tutoring from a published poet, professional playwright and established writer. Committed to helping you find your unique voice and leave your mark..
I’m a published poet and professional writer with over twelve years’ experience. I first earned my chops writing original plays for various theatre groups, at home and abroad, including Italy’s national theatre company: Teatro Stabile. Since then, I’ve written on a freelance basis for a number of projects, including ghost-writing for a novel and an ongoing comic book series. I’ve been teaching writing for over three years, whether for self-expression, exam preparation, improving one’s ability in a specific context (business, creative or academic), or as a necessary supplement to language-learning. I’ve taught a diverse range of learners – including primary and secondary school students, those preparing for university, as well as aspiring writers looking to exercise their storytelling muscles. All writing is fundamentally creative, and the better we are at writing creatively, the more we’re able to accomplish with our writing. This understanding is at the core of my approach. As a teacher, I'll guide you in how best to develop, structure and clarify your ideas in a style that feels true to you. There is no clear-cut path to genuine expression – and while there are plenty of techniques on craft we’ll learn along the way – my ultimate goal is to help you nurture and claim your authentic voice.
