I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic private tutor, teaching Science and Maths from GCSE to A level; and taking genetics, molecular biology, biomolecules, advanced cell biology, statistics and data analysis to a degree level. In addition to science, I have transferable skills in software ranging from social media analytics to adobe suite, MS Office, PyMol, SPSS. As a Bioscience graduate, I have been through all the steps from GCSE to Postgraduate; and I aim to continue my research in genetics and cellular biology through to PhD level. To further this, it is important to teach and pass on important, fundamental information to GCSE and A level students, tips that worked for me, and info that I wish I knew before going into exams. As a Senior black belt, it's also fundamental that I learn and practice new techniques and skills to pass on to younger grades and other black belts. Like Karate, tutoring is a two-way process, where both the tutor and the student learn from each other. The goal for us is to form a tailored learning contract that sets out what you want to achieve and learn. I think there are fundamental research skills that must be learned and passed on, so that if you see a topic you don’t understand, you’re able to know how to tackle the problem and research in an organised and rational way. Get notes, PowerPoints and tailored content to help you revise and learn at a pace that suits you, learn about exam techniques, code words and clues that can pick up easy marks.
