Dependable tutor with physics experience

I only tutor physics, and sometimes the math to go with it. Mostly I tutor AP Physics 1, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, High School Physics, Honors Physics, Calculus-based Introductory College Physics, and Algebra / trig –based Introductory College Physics. I also sometimes work with students in AP Physics 2, Honors Physics, Homeschool Physics, and so forth. I taught high school physics for 6 years. In that time, my students earned a statewide reputation for excellence on IB Physics SL and IB Physics HL exams, in spite of taking the IB Physics SL exam at the end of the first year rather than after two years. They also performed well on exams for AP Physics C Mechanics, AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, and AP Physics B (a combination of AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2, more or less). In the final year, they dominated the competitive Drake physics exam, administered to over 1,000 students in four states by Drake University. I also taught high school math in rural Kenya through the Teach for Knowledge program. And I’ve taught English as a Second language online and for one hour as a guest in a junior high school in Uganda. I have a BSC in Physics from South Eastern Kenya University.

Math and Physics Tutor

I have 14 years of teaching experience in Math and Physics. My belief is that when students understand the underlying concept, then the math involved makes more sense. I can help with math (6th grade through Pre-Calculus) and Newtonian Physics (General Physics, Pre=AP Physics, and AP Physics 1). If you're struggling in math or physics, send me a message and we'll work on a plan to help!

Experienced Math, Physics, and Computer Science Tutor

Experienced Math, Physics, and Computer Science Tutor – Jack Hello! I'm Jack, a passionate tutor dedicated to helping high school students excel in mathematics, physics, and computer science. Since 2019, I've successfully guided students to improve their grades—transforming Cs into As—and to catch up on challenging material. Having completed 11 AP courses at Cupertino High School, including AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, AP Calculus AB & BC, and AP Computer Science A, I possess a strong academic foundation. My advanced studies extend to college-level courses such as Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Probability Theory, Computer Systems, Computer Science Abstraction, Data Science, and Special Relativity. My tutoring approach centers on building intuition and a solid foundation to tackle complex topics. I strive to move beyond rote memorization by helping students visualize concepts and understand the underlying principles. By creating relatable stories and analogies, I make formulas and theories more accessible and engaging. Subjects Offered: Mathematics: From Algebra to Calculus, including advanced topics Physics: Up to AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism Computer Science: High school courses and AP Computer Science SAT Preparation: General SAT tutoring I'm deeply inspired by helping students grow academically and find great fulfillment in their success. Cambridge MEng Graduate - Math, Physics & Engineering Tutor

I have an MEng in Civil Engineering from Cambridge. I've spent years working through difficult technical material, and I understand how frustrating it is when something just won't click - and how satisfying it is when it finally does. I focus on building real understanding, not just memorizing formulas. I'm patient, I explain things clearly, and I'll keep trying different approaches until the concept makes sense. Sometimes that means drawing diagrams, sometimes it means completely rethinking how to explain something. I tutor: High school: Math 10-12, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry University: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statics, Mechanics, Engineering Math Test prep: AP Calculus, AP Physics, IB Math Based in Metro Vancouver, working online.

As a adolescent math education major in college, helping kids learn how math is fun and useful is a top priority.

In high school, all math courses I took strived in and motivated me to learn more about teaching others my skills. Taking my AP Calculus course in high school, and achieving an A+ in the class, it showed me how much I can affect every child that may be struggling in any mathematic course. I hope to share my love for numbers to those willing to reach out for help.

Top US Physics student entering Princeton University

I'm an incoming student at Princeton University majoring in Physics. In 2022 and 2023, I earned a Gold Medal and was nationally ranked top 40 in the US Physics Olympiad competition. I've mastered 12 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including AP Calculus and AP Physics, scoring 5s on every exam. I also scored the maximum score of 1600 on the SAT. I worked as a course instructor for over 20 high school students in Pandorax's 12-week online physics competition preparation course. For the past four years, I've loved helping students in physics and math in my local high school and middle school. I'm also currently a high school student, so I easily understand concepts from the student's perspective. With these qualifications, I feel confident in providing excellent, well-informed tutoring with a unique ability to help students understand concepts from a student's perspective. My approach centers around breaking down problems into pieces and guiding students to solve problems themselves by asking well-thought-out questions, teaching students to learn how to solve problems rather than memorize solutions.
