Hi! I’m Alyssa. I’m an experienced tutor, certified proofreader, and skilled editor who loves connecting with others and helping people build their confidence with English. I’ve taught writing, grammar, and spelling at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; coached college students through writing assignments; and tutored adult English language learners from Egypt and Mexico. (Fun fact: English is my native language, but I am also learning Spanish and Arabic.) Being a student myself, I know how important it is to have a good teacher, so I strive to be that for my students. I foster a welcoming, engaging environment where you can comfortably learn and grow, and I use different approaches to present and explain concepts to deepen understanding. Because every person is unique, I tailor each session to your needs, strengthening and encouraging you to help you succeed and enjoy learning. If you’re seeking to learn English, our lessons will equip you to use English naturally in everyday situations. You’ll learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar and gain real-world practice through conversation, reading, and writing. I’ll also use pictures and visual aids to make new concepts easier to understand and remember. If you need proofreading help, I’ll work with you to spot and fix any grammar, punctuation, formatting, spelling, or word choice issues, helping your writing shine.
