Physics & Math Tutor | PhD | 27 Years Teaching Experience

I am a physics educator with over **27 years of experience** teaching and tutoring students from middle school through college. I have extensive experience working with **neurodivergent** students. I have a **PhD in Physics Education Research**, spent nine years as a college physics professor, taught high school physics and mathematics, and served as a Science Department Chair. My specialty is helping students move from "I don't understand physics" to seeing physics as something they can solve and enjoy. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and confidence—not just memorizing equations for the next test. I work with students in **AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, general physics, college physics, and nearly all levels of mathematics**. Whether you are preparing for an AP exam, struggling with a challenging college course, or looking to strengthen your foundation, I tailor each session to your goals and learning style. My teaching background has taught me that every student learns differently. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the skills needed to become independent learners. Online tutoring allows us to work together effectively using digital whiteboards, shared problem-solving, and interactive explanations. Sessions are typically 60–90 minutes, giving us enough time to understand concepts, practice problem-solving, and make meaningful progress.

Sujets: AP Physics, AP Physics C Mechanics, Advanced Physics (Special Relativity), Honors Physics, IB Physics, Math, Math/Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Physics, Physics (Electricity and Magnetism), Physics (Newtonian Mechanics), Physics (Waves and Optics), SAT II Physics, SAT Mathematics, physics 30

Get help on chemistry homework from a retired chemistry professor

Greetings! I am a retired Chemistry Professor and have taught basic chemistry for close to 25 years. I've taught chemistry to Nursing students, Pre-Med students, and Chemistry Majors. Most of my teaching has been in a classroom setting but I have taught courses online and have also tutored students online. My favorite aspect of teaching is working with students on a one-on-one basis. I strive to show students how to solve a problem using a step-by-step approach. I also do my best to provide a basic understanding of the topic under discussion. I enjoy working with students and do my best to provide explanations which allow the student to gain confidence in approaching and solving problems in chemistry. It is very satisfying to me when a student "gets it". I am also patient and respectful when working with students. I am looking forward to helping you with your assignments and prepare you for upcoming exams. Professor Dave.

NASA engineer by day, tutor by night

Hello, I'm so excited to work with you! I'm a mechanical engineer at NASA JPL working on the Mars mission, but I used to be a student just like you! I went to Carnegie Mellon for my BS in Mechanical Eng and then to Stanford for my MS in Aero Eng. While at Stanford, I was employed as a Teaching Assistant for many undergraduate courses spanning math, engineering, and computer science courses. Since I went to grad school during Covid, I've perfected utilizing tech for online tutoring. I have also worked as a tutor for children (ages 5-11) both in person and online. Through my education and career, I've developed a deep knowledge of physics, math, and computer science that I'd be happy to share with you :) I have a wide variety of teaching experiences - both online and in-person, from kindergarden to college levels. I am a very patient and understanding tutor, because I definitely remember what it's like to struggle with school work. I would love to help you with your tricky subject! https://www.linkedin.com/in/julianne-igbokwe/
